The Dual Calendar feature gives you the ability to view two different training plans on the same screen, on a side by side comparison. There are various possible uses for such a feature, which all serve to greatly reduce the time needed to create new workouts and training plans.

Use the Dual Calendar to monitor and prepare training plan for one Athlete

Reduce the time needed to monitor an athlete

You can compare two different training plans for the same athlete, from two different time periods. Getting insights on their overall progress between successive training plans will only take moments.

Step 1

Select the athlete whose training plans you want to examine.

At the left-hand side of your screen click on the “Athletes’ list” and select an athlete by clicking on their name. [Figure 1]

Figure 1

Step 2

Go to the dual calendar view.

Click on “Dual View” at the top right-hand of their calendar below the “Dashboard”. [Figure 2]

Figure 2

This way you will be transferred to a new section where you’ll see a duplicate version of your athlete’s calendar. There you may navigate through each one of the calendars till you find the time periods or dates of the calendars you want to inspect in parallel. [Figure 3]

Save time, reusing existing workouts

Copy and paste past workouts on a new plan, giving athletes the advantage of training with what they already know, using what you know already works for them.

Step 1

Select the athlete you want to create workouts for.

At the left-hand side of your screen click on the “Athletes’ list” and select an athlete by clicking on their name. [Figure 4]

Step 2

Go to the dual calendar view.

At the top right-hand of their calendar click on “Dual View”, below the “Dashboard”.

You will be transferred to a new section where you’ll see a duplicate version of your athlete’s calendar. [Figure 5]

Figure 5

You may use the first calendar on the left as a benchmark and copy workouts from the one on the right.

Step 3

Find the time period you want to copy the workouts on.

To do so, navigate through the first calendar at the right till you find the week or month you want to create the workouts onto them. [Figure 6]

Figure 6

Step 4

Find the workouts you want to copy.

Navigate through the second calendar on the right and you’ll find the workouts you want to copy. [Figure 7]

Figure 7

Step 5

Copy a workout

To copy a workout just click on it and at the pop-up window click on the copy workout next to the “View details”. [Figure 8]

Figure 8

Now you have copied that workout item.

Step 6

Paste the workout on your benchmark calendar at the left.

Go to the date you want to paste it on at the calendar on the left and click on the (3 dots) at the top right box of the date and click on “Paste”. [Figure 9]

Figure 9

You may follow the same process above for each one of the workouts you want to copy. Note here that while you’ll be following that process you can also create workouts from scratch or edit the ones you have just copied working the same way as you do on your regular calendar section (main view).

Create a new monthly plan, based on last month’s plan

Design a new training plan for an athlete, improving on their previous plan, viewing the two plans side-by-side. This will tremendously help define an increment, whatever training method you’re using.

Follow the same process described above and use the calendar view on the left as a benchmark to create a new plan on it.

Navigate through the calendar on the right till you find the date range of the month you want to rebuild. Copy and paste each one of the workout training sessions from the right calendar to the one on the left. This way you’ll get to build the same workout month in minutes by inspecting and copying past workout items.

Use the Dual calendar to monitor and prepare workouts for two Athletes in parallel

Reuse your workouts among different athletes

You can also copy and paste workouts from one athlete to another. If it fits, why do it from scratch? Besides, every workout you copy and paste will readjust itself to each athlete’s training zones.

Step 1

Go to the dual calendar view

At the top right-hand of their calendar click on “Dual View”, below the “Dashboard”. [Figure 10]

Figure 10

You will be transferred to a new section where you’ll see a duplicate version of your calendar. [Figure 11]

Then navigate through his/her calendar and find the time period you want to work on.

Step 3

Use the second calendar as a tool to find Athletes whose ready-made workouts you want to copy to the first calendar.

To do so, use the "Athletes’ List” drop-down list at top of this calendar [Figure 13] and then navigate through the dates of this calendar to find the workouts you want to inspect and then replicate to the first one.

Click on the workout you want to copy and on the pop-up window click on the copy button next to the “View Details” [Figure 14] . You have copied that workout.

Figure 14

Step 5

Paste the preferred workout to the first benchmark calendar.

Go to the first calendar at the left and paste on the preferred date by clicking on the (3 dots) that top right-hand of the date [Figure 15]. You have copied that workout.

Figure 15

You may follow that process as many times as needed, to shape the training period.

Note here that these calendars have identical functionality. That means you may copy workouts from the left to the right calendar and vice versa. The only thing you need to be careful of is to make sure that you paste workout items on the correct athlete’s calendar (preselect your athlete from the drop-down list). And, you’ll have no trouble readjusting the copied workout for the new athlete. ScienceTraining will readjust it to the athlete’s training zones for you!

Facilitate athlete monitoring and comparison

Compare two different training plans for two different athletes in the same group, to compare their progress in terms of training loads and summaries. [Figure 16]  It’s a major timesaver in performance monitoring.

At the drop-down list of “Athletes’ List” of the first calendar on the left select the first athlete you want to compare. Navigate through the dates of that calendar till you find the month or week you want to compare. Follow the same process for the calendar on the right till you find the second athlete and the respective workout period you wish to compare.
